The Sisterly Relations Committee of Gamma Delta Omega presented an afternoon of high tea and sisterly bonding. A few of the Jewels of Gamma Delta Omega chapter shared their journey into Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, as well as sharing a few "Pearls of Wisdom" with the Sorors. Sisterhood is our Bond!
Women's Healthcare and Wellness
The Women's Health and Wellness Committee of Gamma Delta Omega hosted a discussion with Virginia Representatives of NAMI (National Alliance of Mental Illness). This important discussion provided a wealth of mental health & wellness information for parents, middle school, and high school students. Every attendee was engaged and took away information that could be shared immediately.
"Sewing in Service"
An awesome evening of service! We Zoomed in for "Sewing in Service!" Our goal is to provide pillowcase dresses to girls in Haiti. In this short class, Instructor LaTarisha Beamon taught step by step how to create the dresses. Excellent session from start to finish!
Target 4: The Arts!
Gamma Delta Omega Chapter Members, Family, and Friends gathered on Zoom as Target IV: The Arts, presented "A HARLEM RENAISSANCE JAZZ EXTRAVAGANZA" A Night of History and Entertainment.
This #CAP workshop provided helpful information to junior and senior high school students as they prepare and navigate the “Road to College Admission."
Pink Goes Red February 2021
Gamma Delta Omega Chapter Members wore RED to commemorate HEART HEALTH. Over 100 Alpha Kappa Alpha Women gathered on Zoom to keep their hearts healthy for an hour of Zumba with "MOJO!" We took off Our PINK and wore RED to raise awareness of Heart Disease and promoted life changes that enhance healthy living and longevity. Alpha Kappa Alpha is proud to partner with the American Heart Association to fight against heart disease. As we observe "PINK GOES RED" Impact Day, we will continue to strengthen our partnership and educate our community.
